AUSTRALIA

  • Senator Lyn Allison Senator( Executive Global Citizens For Peace) Lyn Allison is the parliamentary leader of the Australian Democrats. She was elected to Federal Parliament as Senator for Victoria in 1996 and re-elected in 2001. From 2002 to 2004 she served as Deputy Leader and Party Whip.Over many years she has been an outspoken campaigner on health, education, environment and nuclear issues.In Parliament Lyn has been an active member of key Senate Committees, has successfully negotiated improvements to legislation as well as additional funding for a number of programs in the areas of environmental protection and schools.Senator Allison chaired the powerful Senate Environment, Communications, Information Technology and the Arts References Committee from 1998 to 2003 during which time, the committee conducted 10 key environment inquiries and made hundreds of recommendations.Senator Allison's most notable achievements to date include negotiating almost $1 billion of 'Measures for a Better Environment' programs in 1999, hundreds of amendments to Federal environment and heritage laws and initiating the National Safe Schools Framework to tackle abuse and bullying in schools.
  • Dr Stella Cornelius, AO, OBE -( Honorary Consultant Global Citizens For Peace) Stella Cornelius is an elder in action for peace, conflict resolution, social justice and human rights.She is internationally acknowledged as a pioneer in developing, researching, teaching and implementing conflict resolution. Dr Cornelius is the Founder of the Conflict Resolution Network.
  • Prof Chris Hamer( Executive Global Citizens For Peace) Chris Hamer is a Visiting Associate Professor in the School of Physics, University of New South Wales. He was formerly active in Scientists Against Nuclear Arms (SANA), now Citizens for Global Responsibility. He teaches a general studies course on "Nuclear Arms and the New World Order", and has written a book on the topic of "A Global Parliament" (1998). He is also Registrar for the World Citizens Registry in Australia.
  • Dr Liliane Metz-Krencker ( Executive Global Citizens For Peace) Liliane Metz-Krencker is Secretary-General of the World Citizens Registry, based in France. She is the inspirational moving spirit behind the foundation of World Citizens Association Australia. She is an international Speaker and has talked on Towards World Government: The idea of World Federation"; A Global Parliament"; "Progress made by the World Citizen movement in Europe".
  • Dr Lyndon Storey ( Executive Global Citizens For Peace) Dr Lyndon Storey is an expert in International Relations is Founder of the Human Union Movement. A political Roadmap for the 21st Century". He began his career as a volunteer community lawyer, barrister and law lecturer in Australia. He spent several years, from 1993-1997, in China, where he taught courses on western civilization to Chinese University students, learned the Chinese language and studied classical Chinese philosophy. Dr. Storey has also taught philosophy and politics in Australia and delivered guest lectures in the USA. Two of the projects he has been actively involved with are the formation of the Australian World Citizens Association and the Human Union Movement. He is involved in academic research comparing the classical political thought of east and west and has just completed a book "Humanity or Sovereignty" which will be released in early 2006.It is hoped that each person with their unique expertise can contribute towards promoting an integrative approach to peace and wellness within global society. Up to now within society and government there has been no real debate on the nature of values, consciousness or conscience. For humankind to survive in the vastly changing scenario of climate change and inequity in the world we need to seek for new solutions and a renaissance of thought and consciousness on a planetary level. This can be called the new paradigm which serves to integrate science and consciousness and humanism and economics.

He has a special interest in mind/ body medicine and in optimising the physical, mental and emotional health of the individual.As well as his medical qualifications, Dr Ellis also has an Honours Degree in Literature, Arts, Philosophy and Social Psychology.
